Richard Ilka, M.D.

After getting his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics at Wayne State University, Richard Ilka finished Officer Candidate School of the U.S. Navy, and continued on to Stanford University for his degree in medicine. Dr. Ilka completed his surgery internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, his residency in Preventive Medicine at John Hopkins University, and his residency in Occupational Medicine at Kettering Laboratory in Ohio. He is Board Certified with the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

Dr. Ilka has served as an instructor in the U.S. Naval Academy, Chief of Environmental Epidemiology, Battalion Surgeon of the U.S. Marine Corps during Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia, and Commanding Officer of the Navy Hospital Unit. Dr. Ilka is President of Corporate Occupational Health and has served as medical director with Butterworth Occupational Health, Motorola, and Marathon Oil, as well as Corporate Director for Health and Environmental Systems. Dr. Ilka was also Chief of Emergency Medicine at Christ Hospital in Ohio.

Dr. Ilka has received honors with a medal from Bausch & Lomb, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, and the National Environmental Partnership Award (for rescuing wildlife in Saudi Arabia).
